WISKA is introducing a cable entry system especially designed for switchboard installations: CONMAXX. The innovative 3-component modular system offers customers a whole new dimension of flexibility.

The CONMAXX system consists of a closed frame, variable grid inserts and conical sealing elements.  The three components can be compiled individually according to requirement and application, as if in a modular system.

Even subsequent, individual changes to the wiring are no problem – without any laborious opening and closing. CONMAXX provides a better and easier solution to any installation requirement!

Plug instead of wiring:
The plug-in solution for a quick installation

With the WHK, WISKA is combining its junction box expertise with the idea of power distribution via installation plug connectors.

The modular unit can be supplied pre-wired, using the sockets from most major manufacturers. Pre-fabricated components for building automation, e. g. lighting systems, make it possible to connect the power supply in seconds. Due to diverse mounting options, the new junction box is perfectly suited for flexible and mobile applications. This all makes the WHK the ideal junction box for electrical installations within commercial building.

With the LED multi-purpose luminaire 4000, WISKA has developed the perfect lighting solution for use in the maritime industry and the offshore sector. The innovative luminaire is DNV GL certified and, like all WISKA products, stands for the highest “made in Germany” quality.

Beyond excelling the high requirements of maritime lighting, the LED multi-purpose luminaire 4000 reduces maintenance costs to zero. The reason for that is simple: The luminaire dispenses of a driver, which considerably minimises the risk of failure.

With only reduced components and no additional lighting fixture housing, assembly and installation of the LED multi-purpose luminaire 4000 go straightforward. The lighting system has been tried and tested in thousands of operating hours and provides reliable working light regardless of even roughest conditions.

With the Railway Series, WISKA has developed an industry-specific expansion of its proven SPRINT cable gland system, thereby fully meeting the special needs of the rail industry.

Since June 2013, products and their materials that are used in the railway sector must be tested in accordance with the new fire safety standard EN 45545, in order to meet the same quality standards across Europe. This does not only apply to new vehicles; the components used must also meet these requirements in remedial maintenance of railway vehicles. The RW product range complies with the required standards for European railway outfitters in all respects and for all materials used.

WISKA's RW series is the ideal combination of high-value product quality and multiple modularity, while maintaining compliance with standards. The RW components have been successfully tested for fire resistance in accordance with EN 45545-3:2013-08. Furthermore, the entire series meets the highest requirements of Hazard Level 3 that can be applied to the materials used in the railway industry.

WISKA is one of the first European manufacturers to have successfully tested a complete series of cable glands in the differing materials of polyamide, brass and stainless steel to meet both this standard and hazard level.

The SPRINT Railway (RW)-Serie by WISKA:

Use under extreme conditions

Small and Hot – this is how the new ShotGLAND cable gland series by WISKA presents itself. It has been designed especially for the industrial usage where extremely hot or very cold ambient temperatures prevail. Thanks to its minimal installation height, the ShotGLAND is one of the flattest cable glands on the market. Truly versatile!

In the LT-version the new ShotGLAND comes with an efficient silicone sealing that can be used in temperatures ranging from -60 °C to 180 °C. This makes ShotGLAND the ideal cable gland for high temperature environments like the steel industry or sensor technology as well as applications with lowest temperatures. Both version standard and LT are offered with an EMC insert. Using different sealing elements large range clamping sizes can be realized.  

The ShotGLAND cable gland is available in thread sizes from M 8 to M 63 thereby covering a broad application spectrum. By its compact sealing design the minimal installation height ranging from 10 mm (M 8) to 16,5 mm (M 63) is realized along with a protection class of IP 68 with strain relief.

BraceFITTING non-metallic: Cable protection with a clasp mechanism

The new BraceFITTING is a non-metallic fitting, developed and produced in-house at WISKA, fulfilling the strictest international quality standards. Thanks to its 360° clasp mechanism, this product is easy and safe to install: Insert the conduit, close the clasp mechanism, and it is ready to use! The conduit is already securely in place, sealed water tight and impervious to slipping out.

Mounting examples

The WHK junction box offers a high level of flexibility in use and mounting. A wide range of mounting options is available, for example onto cable trays, threaded rods and mounting plates, or using screw anchors, nails or click-installation.

With its cable glands complying with British Standard (BS) 6121, WISKA offers products for installation. Due to the use of steel wire armour cables, these locations require the use of special versions of cable glands.

Unlike to German market, the UK and other Commonwealth markets use steel wire armoured cable, which requires the use of BW and CW cable glands. In addition to these cables there are types to suit SY or CY braided cable. The demands of these kind of cable glands are fixed in British Standard (BS) 6121.

Eventually, due to several changes within the standards, and with the emergence of harmonised European Normative for products and equipment used in potentially flammable atmospheres, BS 6121 concentrated on the industrial cable gland design only, the essence of which has prevailed for more than 40 years.

Today the BS 6121 requirement, although still called for in many engineering specifications around the world, is slowly being lost and diluted in the process of harmonisation and globalisation. Whilst new EN standards may be brought into deal with generic subject headings, and are considered to replace existing national standards, they do not always address the issues and needs of all applications.

Solutions for every application

The diversity of our products provide venting solutions for a broad range of applications. Thread sizes include M 12 to M 63 with a wide range of materials such as polyamide, brass and stainless steel. Completed by their high protection classes of IP 68 and 69, venting products by WISKA appear to be true multitalents. Our VentGLAND® Cable glands

The VentGLAND® combines pressure equalization and cable gland in a single unit and features high air flow rates as well as high water protection capacity.

The breathable VentGLAND® cable glands are a part of the tried and tested modular SPRINT system. The VentGLAND® can easily be used to replace standard cable glands due to its identical clamping ranges and compatibility with all cap nuts and ranges of multiple and special sealing inserts. The product portfolio is rounded off with VentGLAND® cable glands with EMC-inserts for protection against electromagnetic interference.

The VentPLUG is used when a cable gland with an additional pressure equalization unit is required to vent the enclosure.

Pressure equalization units from WISKA are now also available in thread sizes M 20 and M 40, in addition to M 12. Both feature a flat, space-saving design to enable flexible usage. Thanks to an improved membrane, the air flow rate of the new VentPLUG in the sizes M 20 and M 40 has more than doubled. The high air flow version even achieves a 2.5 times higher value.

Hermetically sealed enclosures are insufficient to protect electrical installations from moisture and contaminants. Fluctuating temperatures and environmental factors, especially during outdoor usage, create pressure inside tightly sealed enclosures. This leads to a build-up of condensation as well as damage to the seal that can result in the penetration of moisture and dirt.

The newest family member completes the COMBI series – the clever solution for junction boxes.

Its external dimensions of 95 x 95 x 60 mm present an additional box size between the COMBI 308 and 607. With its innovative features, including the threaded membrane entries, it offers the full range of all COMBI benefits. New to the product line are also screwless push in terminals for quicker and easier installation. Furthermore all accessories of the COMBI 308 are also available for the 407.

The 6 x M 20 threaded membrane entries combined with the M 20 threaded and middle membrane entry with knockout to M 25 make for maximum flexibility.

The COMBI 407 is a valuable addition for our junction box family.

  • The sealing technique ensures a high life expectancy, even under permanent influence of moisture, ideal for ports and shipyards, car wash plants, tunnels and flooding areas
  • IP 68 up to a water depth of up to 15 meters and 170 hours according to DIN EN 60529
  • Usable at temperatures between -30°C and 100°C
  • Mixing bag solution allows for a professional and clean sealing of the box as well as an easy removal of the filling material, plastic sprue allows for easy sealing 
  • Filling material consolidates after a few minute
